Mataaga Aoga Amata was founded in 2000 by a group of passionate Samoan parents in Auckland who wanted to create a preschool where their children could grow up surrounded by the language, traditions, and values of their heritage.
With the support of EFKS Grey Lynn, the first Congregational Christian Church of Samoa in New Zealand, our preschool was established as a place where children could receive a strong educational foundation while staying deeply connected to their cultural roots and Christian faith. Over the years, Mataaga Aoga Amata has grown into a vibrant community that continues to honor the vision of its founders, providing a nurturing environment where young minds can thrive.
At Mataaga Aoga Amata, our culture is the heart and soul of our preschool. We are dedicated to preserving and promoting the Samoan language, traditions, and values in everything we do. From the daily lessons conducted in Samoan to the celebration of cultural events and practices, we ensure that our children grow up with a deep appreciation for their heritage.
Our commitment to Samoan culture extends beyond the classroom, fostering a strong sense of identity and community among our students, their families, and the wider community.
Through this cultural immersion, we aim to nurture confident, proud individuals who carry the legacy of their Samoan roots into the future.
